The brief

Larch St. Market runs every Saturday from May to October with around forty farms and makers. The organisers needed one look across posters, bags and stall signs, used by people who are not designers.

Design direction

A simple larch-tree mark and a heavy, friendly grotesk set the tone. A family of produce icons built from basic shapes lets each vendor have their own sign while everything still matches.

Production

Posters are risograph-printed in green and tomato red; totes are screen-printed in one colour. Vendors get a fill-in price card template they can print at home.

Output

40 vendors

One mark, a set of icons and a template every stall can use.

Studio note

Make it simple enough that a farmer can use it at 7 a.m.
