The brief

Gallery Nine shows four exhibitions a year in a converted storefront. Most visitors find it on their phone, often while already on the street outside.

Design direction

The site leads with what is on now, then hours and directions. Large serif titles and plenty of white space echo the gallery’s printed invitations, so online and print feel like one voice.

Production

Templates for exhibitions, artists and events were set up so staff can publish a new show in under an hour. Every page was tested on small phones first.

Output

Phone first

What is on, when it is open and how to get there, in one scroll.

Studio note

Put the art first and the opening hours second.
