The brief

Commons is a library of things: neighbours list what they own and lend it out for free. Early users said finding an item was easy, but arranging the pick-up took too many messages.

Design direction

Interviews with twelve lenders shaped one rule: three taps from search to booked. The home screen leads with what is nearby, item pages show the lender and a day picker up front, and the confirmation screen does the scheduling.

Production

The work covered wireframes, a clickable prototype tested with eight people, and a compact design system of colours, type, buttons and cards so developers could build new screens without starting from scratch.

Output

3 taps

From search to a booked pick-up, tested with eight neighbours.

Studio note

Design the handover, not just the listing.
